The Ultimate In Personalized AR-15-Themed Handguards
Our teams had a great time building some pretty amazing AR-15s, and we love the whole process. When we first ran across the themed Sharp’s Bro’s lower receivers, we decided it would be fun to do the whole set of five and started out on the mission. In researching how we wanted to approach these builds, we threw a lot of ideas around. When we ran across the Unique ARs custom AR-15 handguards, we knew with the Sharps Bros lowers and the Unique Ar handguard; we would be able to build some great AR-15s.

Our 2 Cents On That Controversy
Who gives a shit? We certainly don’t; I don’t spend time figuring out why people feel so strongly about it either way. We’ve had a blast doing them think they look pretty awesome! Further on the journey, we’ve seen some pretty amazing builds from other folks; it started out a lot of fun and has stayed that way!
The Journey To Build Custom AR-15s
Using the word “build” is a bit off context, but it is how assembling an AR-15 is usually referred to. Technically we source parts from manufacturers and then assemble all those parts into an AR-15.
We do not build AR-15s for sale, and these projects we’re personal projects we decided to feature on the website for information to others that were interested in doing their own builds. Along the way, we have received great feedback; again, it’s been a lot of fun. Of course, we’ve heard
our fair share of how the concept makes no sense, but you’ve already heard our take regarding those comments.
Why Do People Build Their Own AR-15s
Several reasons account for why individuals opt to build their own AR-15 rifles instead of buying pre-assembled versions.

Our First Theme Build With an AR-15 “One Shot” Handguard
Our first themed build incorporated “The Jack” Sharps Bro’s lower receiver and several parts from Unique Ar’s, including;

- Custom Heat Shield
The balance of parts for the Skull-Themed build were all quality parts; there is a complete list in our blog post “Skull-Themed AR15 Build“. The build is an AR-15 10.3” 300 Blackout. When we built it, pistol braces were still allowed on AR-15 pistols, which is why you’ll see that in some photos.
These handguards are manufactured and custom Cerakoted By the Unique ARs team. In the case of the buffer tube and heat shield, we’re also built to match our AR-15 specs.

Our next AR-15 theme build in the set was the “Overthrow” lower receiver with Unique AR’s “Spartan” handguard. The real fun with these builds is changing the concept and selecting parts to fit.
